Eleni's first birthday was a big deal, but we didn't have a lot of extra time. George created the image and it was printed on a scallop edged card to give it some oomphf (without extra work). It was mailed in an envelope the color of the peapod. It's always been one of my favorites...sweet without being sappy, graphic without being harsh, age appropriate without being childish.

Baby Althea Announcements

Althea is a type of hibiscus, hence the image. It was hard to decide which direction to go - sweet and natural or graphic and bold. I'll present you with both here.

Until then...

I've got some exciting projects to share, but out of respect to the clients, I need to wait until the first of June. Until then, I'm going to attempt to post older jobs and get caught up.

Caroline and Ian were married on a bluff with a stunning view of the mountains, under a chuppah made from birch trees. While they were open to anything (sometimes no direction is harder than too much direction) it was Caroline's mom who suggested the idea of looking up into the trees. It fit perfectly with the other elements, and we were all thrilled with the finished product.

Obama Cards

I recently completed a set of Obama cards.  After the election I wanted to do something...so I did what I do, and put into color and graphics what I  felt.  Relief, serenity, hope, and yes, a little bit of "HA!".  I put them for sale at You Say Tomato and sent sets to a select group of friends and family that I knew would appreciate them.  The response has been phenomenal and I've enjoyed listening to the dialog they've elicited.  It was suggested that I post the designs (thanks Cathi) for all to see (and yes, buy).  Should you want to purchase any, please email me with the style, quantity and shipping information.  They are $2.50 each and do come with a coordinating envelope.  My logo (modified slightly for this particular set) is also on the back in a coordinating color scheme.  "Hell Yeah" is actually printed on a beet (purply red) stock.  Enjoy!  And best wishes for a peaceful 2009!!  We now have a chance.

Evening Shade Farms

One of my current projects is making photo cards for Evening Shade Farms.  She makes the best soap!  And the farm and soaphouse are incredibly picturesque.  The cards will allow people to share the beauty...or keep as a memento for themselves.  Check her out at http://www.eveningshadefarms.com/

Here goes...

I have no idea how this will work. Maybe it will be a smashing success. Maybe it will be a disaster. At the very least I suppose it will be a time suck - as if I don't already have enough of those. My hope is that this blog can function as a spotlight for my professional work in addition to a record of my personal life, as I've become slightly obsessed with documentation since my daughter was born. Here goes...
